I only have a little time before I have to give my journal back to my aunt...they don't want me reading much public correspondence until my memory comes back. Something about it having to come back on its own... I don't really know. It's all very confusing for me right now. lie back down. They say I should be resting instead of spending time writing in here, but being cut off is just not an option for me at the moment... I am happy to say that I am feeling much better, the staff at St. Mungo's has been taking very good care of me, and most of my injuries are completely healed at this point.
I wanted to - myself - thank everyone for their well wishes. With any luck I'll be out of here in a few days. Again thank you all.

This is rather late, but I wanted to compose myself before taking up the topic of Rita Skeeter. While I find what she writes in bad taste on a normal day, her last column went past the line. I would very much hope that she could keep it in her mind that children are not meant to be targets. They have done nothing and to drag them through the mud is just wrong, shows a supreme lack of ethics. And I speak of any child. The current editors of the Prophet and Witch Weekly may overlooked this, but it is deplorable, Rita! I realize you may not accept this, but I want you to stay away from my goddaughter. And you should be thoroughly ashamed. Not to mention dragging the good names of people through the mud? Now I'm going to warn you once about this.
Now that that is over, this week is certainly going to be fun... and I use that term loosely. How much fun can one have when burried under literal stacks of paperwork? It is time for the bi-yearly LCC staff evaluations, and I've taken it upon myself for the last five years to do them personally. After council meetings and after today's window shopping session with Hannah, I believe the rest of this week I will be found in my office. There is also a board meeting on Friday.
I'm taking wagers here and giving 2 to six odds that certain members will not be happy with my current plan... I may be looking into new board members soon. The fact that nothing can get done becuase of their disruptions because of my age is preposterous! This organization is not about them! It is about the children and the communities we support. I believe that perhaps somewhere in the last twenty years since my father opened the very first center and they became board members they forgot that little detail. I am not standing for it anymore.

Unfortunate injury?! Two people were seriously injured and one is dead! How could they make light of this like that?! If we're backing up the Americans in this why haven't they sent any members of their Magical Security Force as part of this endeavour?! Yes they've sent some aurors but the MSF? Its their equivelent to our aurors - better trained, better equipped. They're the ones that should be there!
We get to see her tomorrow... Thank Merlin. I think it is completely prejudice that Mione's parents could not see her without assistance! St. Kelders may be a wizard's facility, but to deny a patient's parents access to them! I realize that we have no influence in Germany but ethically it is wrong!
...I cannot wait until this week is over.
As far as Politics are concerned? ... All I can say is this election will be nothing if not interesting. While Fogg is doing a somewhat decent job he has made if very clear that he does not wish to run. This means that there will be the possibility for not two but several candidates. And any number of platforms! With the public clearly split... Yes interesting is definately the right word.

I spent the evening trying to take my mind off of things by watching a muggle movie in London... Unfortunately it didn't work. Until Mione's back I don't think I'll be able to be at ease... Her father is less of a wreck but they're not letting him or her mother in to see her yet... She's been unconscious for the last two days... Its better that she's safe in a hospital than in their hands, butt I don't think any of us will be sleeping well until she'd finally back here and in Mungos - not in some hospital in Germany!
I've been so distracted I can't even focus on my research and I have an assessment and report wanted at Mungos by next week... I'll just have to contact and tell them things came up. I'm not exactly on a deadline... I think I need a stiff drink. And a trip back to the Royal Archives. I have a few things I have to check again..
When she gets back she's going under house arrest! Her parents aren't going to let her leave, I'm certain of it... She's not going to like that one bit.
As for that Op-Ed? I think its utter rubbish and while I understand that the Prophet has to publish other opinions I believe this one to be out of place. Yes they were insistant on the attendance this summer! Whether everyone needed to go or not, but to doubt that anything has come from it?! That's not only completely rude but insensative!
On another note I have tickets to the next Exhibition game. Although I'm not certain that I'll be going, given what's happened...
Note to self: Put in order for roses for next week.

The unfortunate thing is that while things have settled slightly due to the capture of the would-be assassin, there is now the problems that come with the incarceration. I was in the Alley and there was a protest outside the Ministry today! Signs, posters. There was a huge crowd and I was there just by myself and one of them saw me and tried to grab me. Probably just a spur of the moment thing, but still. Couldn't find out specifically what it was about. There was so much yelling... But it is something I am going to be looking into. They were angry... more than angry.
There is no excuse for it! I will be bringing it up with the Council. Whatever it is, the citizenry are unhappy. And it is our job to represent them. This is my formal notice to add this issue to this week's calender of events.

Just to let everyone know, Zach is awake. He woke up early yesterday morning much to the relief of the medical staff... He is of course being uncooperative. He wants to go home something awful. But that's Zach for you.
They say he may be released sometime tomorrow. But he is not allowed to leave until they say so.

And just when you think that Rita Skeeter can't sink any lower, she pulls a fast one! She doesn't just leave the Prophet (which by the way we are all ever so thankful for), but she goes to work for Witch Weekly. Probably to turn it into a bigger piece of fluff than it already is!
For the love of all things Magickal, Rita. Can't you take the hint? People don't like you. You can write whatever you want, you can make a fuss with your words but they're lies and half truths Except for maybe the part about my aunt... do I really want to ask and find out... Um... no. I don't think so. Rather say oblivious to that. And they're just annoying. I mean don't you have to have gotten together with someone for a first time before you can get together "again"? That is the way it generally works.
So congradulations Rita Skeeter. Not only are you about to cause more lawsuits for slander for another publication in the possibly near future but you've also messed up your facts. Again. Although that does not surprise me. You have this extraordinary way of distracting people from the news and events that really matter. If you'll recall, there are still those frends and family among us who are currently overseas?! There are educational issues that need to be retooled? There are laws to be passed and a whole onslaught of other things. And you can't even make up plausable sounding fiction. Congradulations. You've ruined another publication with one column!
And don't get me wrong, I'm all for a free and open press. In fact, journalism? Something my father instilled in me - a well written piece is a thing to be praised! But what she does? She may get paid well for it, but as far as journalism goes? She may as well be peddling smut... no offense Sirius

I'm not sure whether to laugh or be extremely concerned. This is why the paper has different sections. Between the society page - which is hilarious today (sorry Uncle!) and The Comic Adventures of Gilder McCloy, Traveling Yiddish Clown in the comics section, and the news on the front page? Talk about mixing emotions...

Why is it that love always has to have some sort of alterior motive. Why does it always have to have to do with blood or politics or other outside factors? Why can't it just be accepted that two people can fall in love and it has nothing to do with anything other than the way they feel about one another?!
Love doesn't know the bounds of blood status. It doesn't understand that people have political agendas. The people do but the attraction does not halt inherently because of these things! The sooner people realize that and stop attributing outside causes the better we will all be!

Um... what's this about me being pregnant and going out with Zach? Are you telling me that immaculate conception actually works? There are so many things wrong with this that I don't know where to start! What right does Skeeter have to make things up about my personal life! If I were pregnant would I be playing quidditch this weekend?
Just because I've decided to be 22/23 (as my birthday is next week) and have some unorthodox fun doesn't mean that I'm seeing Zacharias! He's family! So is Terry! For Merln's sake! Skeeter stay out of my life! You already scarred me for life when I was a a child! For goodness sakes!
Though I do admit - I would love to know who this supposed 'source' is. Could it be it's a middle-aged woman with blond hair and ugly glasses who is simply making things up from banter between friends? Why yes! I believe it just may be!
